New Official Chief Representative Economic Promotion Canton of Schaffhausen
May 05, 2015
The Governing Council of Schaffhausen appointed Christoph Schärrer to the post of Delegate for Economic Development, the lead for the economic promotion of the Canton. Schärrer took over from Generis M.D. Thomas Holenstein, who had initially developed and then successfully led economic promotion activity for the Canton over two decades.
Generis has been performing the economic development function on behalf of the Canton of Schaffhausen since 1997. During that time, the company has established an excellent reputation as a capable and trusted advisor to established and inbound businesses, local organisations and municipalities.
Christoph Schärrer, 38, is fully familiar with the remit, having worked for the Economic Promotion Team since 2011.
Having qualified in Accountancy and Auditing from the University of St. Gallen, he worked for consultants Kienbaum and then for around six years at PricewaterhouseCoopers, both in Switzerland and abroad. In his new role, he will be able to draw on the support of a well-established team including Marcus Cajacob, Patrick Schenk and Petra Roost.
