Change at the top for Generis AG

June 16, 2016

In 2015, Thomas Holenstein handed over responsibility for the economic promotion of the Canton of Schaffhausen to Christoph Schärrer. In 2016, he has passed on the role of Managing Director to Marco Rhyner, a long-serving member of the Generis team, in a move which completes implementation of a succession plan at the specialist consultancy.

The change represents a transition for Generis from being owner-managed to having a leadership team comprising three partners – Marco Rhyner, Christoph Schärrer and Thomas Holenstein. Going forward, the company will benefit from the broader entrepreneurial foundations which the partnership represents as well as from additional capabilities to develop in a number of different segments.

Marco Rhyner studied Economics at the University of St. Gallen and has been managing Generis’ Chinese subsidiary in Peking from 2010 to 2015.

Thomas Holenstein will withdraw from day-to-day management of the business and take on the role of President of the Supervisory Board. He will also major on business development in Switzerland and in Asia as well as ensuring his extensive experience is available to shape the company’s future.
