Supporting innovation in the Canton of Schaffhausen

Every two years, the most innovative developments by Schaffhausen-based business are recognised by the presentation of an Innovation Award, on behalf of IVS, the Schaffhausen Industry & Commerce Association. Generis manages the end-to-end process on behalf of ITS, the Schaffhausen Industry & Technology Knowledge Hub, starting with announcement of the awards and criteria through to overseeing the judging process and organising the presentation ceremony.
Innovation deserves recognition and support. That’s why the most exciting and most promising innovations developed in the Schaffhausen region receive an IVS Innovation Award, sponsored by the local banks. The Award is worth CHF 16,000 and is presented every two years. The Schaffhausen Industry & Technology Knowledge Hub, ITS, has been tasked with organising the event since 2015. ITS is responsible for increasing the competitiveness of tech businesses in the region around Schaffhausen, promoting innovation and forging links between different partners in industry. Its work is led and undertaken by Generis.
Submissions for the Award always come from a wide range of businesses, spanning companies with international operations such as divisions of the Georg Fischer Group and also local SMEs and Start-Ups. Summer 2019 saw the IVS Innovation Award presented for the ninth time, once again sponsored by Schaffhausen’s banks. The judges, comprising business leaders and politicians, identified three outstanding tech businesses as finalists, with the Award going to telematics specialist Savvy, ahead of Georg Fischer Piping Systems AG and software business Star AG.
Presentation of the tenth IVS Innovation Award will take place in summer 2021, with ITS once again organising the end-to-end process.
