Strong turnout at Sino-Swiss Entrepreneurs Forum
November 12, 2019
On November 11 the Sheraton Hotel in Zurich was host to a business event under the theme of «Sino-Swiss Innovation Exchange». Roughly 80 participants took part in the networking and knowledge exchange organized by Generis AG on behalf of the Guizhou Council for the Promotion of international Trade (CCPIT). The event offered participants an opportunity to mingle with the business community active between Switzerland and China.
Switzerland and China are among the most innovative countries in the world: While Switzerland has topped the Global Innovation Index for nine consecutive years, China has made massive strides over the same period and is now nearing the top 10. For companies active in Switzerland and in China this offers not only new market opportunities, but also increasing possibilities for cross-border innovation to take place.
The full title of the event «Sino-Swiss Innovation Exchange: how cross-border business activities stimulate company innovation» was chosen by Guizhou CCPIT to showcase how companies can strengthen their capacities for innovation through cooperation. The event also served to promote the Guiyang Eco Forum Global, an annual business exchange platform which in the past has also seen high level participation from Swiss ministers, members of parliament and business leaders.
Working against a very tight schedule, Generis AG was able to deliver a high-profile event with a line-up of interesting speakers. The guest list included representatives of the Chinese embassy in Bern, Swiss Global Enterprise (SGE), the Swiss Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Switzerland Innovation, Swiss Materials, Chinese and swiss entrepreneurs and academics.
The keynote speeches were followed by a networking reception which offered an opportunity for participants to exchange views on the topics and to meet old and new friends.
