Attractive cities like Solothurn are growing – and with this growth come challenges. Solothurn’s city center is under pressure to densify, residential space is scarce, and open spaces are dwindling.
In response, the City of Solothurn is developing the new «Weitblick» district in the western part of Solothurn – a lively neighborhood that combines living, working, and recreation and is directly connected to the Aare River and the Solothurn old town. At the heart of the development is a vision of harmonizing sustainable development with an urban quality of life.
To turn this vision into a viable concept, generis supported the project in developing a clear strategic foundation. Generis developed a mission statement, guided the project’s positioning, and created an overarching communications strategy. The tagline «Solothurn Weitblick – welcome to your city» appeals to an urban audience, creates identification for residents, visitors and businesses, and summarizes the potential of the new district. Not only does this create a strong identity for Weitblick, but also a stable foundation for further planning and investment.
