The Limmat Valley, spanning the cantons of Zürich and Aargau, is one of the fastest growing regions in Switzerland. Not only an important economic engine, it is also an increasingly popular – and populated – place to live. Yet challenges come along with growth: overburdened transportation networks, increasing environmental pressures, and the question of how to maintain a long-term balance between nature and progress.
Limmatstadt AG, the organization coordinating regional development, wanted a new approach. Generis designed a participatory process, engaging the relevant stakeholders in the development of a common vision. The strategy developed enjoys the support of all involved and forms the foundation for future development planning and projects in the Limmat Valley.
