Work-ID: Business model development
for the Swiss Commercial Association
Work ID: How an association is shaping the job market
Project
The Swiss Commerical Association (Kaufmännischer Verband) has a long history as a traditional employee association. Yet in today’s new world of work, traditional offerings often fall short. To remain future-proof, a bold new approach for the Commercial Association is needed – one that creates real added value and bridges the gap between the labor market, educational needs, and the organization’s members.
Together with the Commercial Association, generis developed an innovative business model that intelligently combines job matching and lifelong learning. This journey began with a design thinking process, which produced a visionary – yet practical – platform concept. Generis then validated the concept with experts and scouted suitable technology partners. Acting as a bridge-builder, generis coordinated internal and external stakeholders, brought innovation drivers and investors to the table, and guided the entire process from business plan development to the founding of a joint company.
The process gave rise to Work-ID AG, a company that rethinks the job market. Using a digital skills identity, employees can anonymously match their capabilities and values with suitable job opportunities and connect with employers, without traditional cover letters or application procedures. In turn, companies can directly search for specific skill sets for new projects or new positions. The objective: discrimination-free job matching and a fair, effective labor market for all.
