Taking a proactive approach to climate adaptation

Project

Heat waves, heavy rainfall, landslides, or droughts—climate change is having an increasingly severe impact on communities, regions, and infrastructure. We must act now to prevent further climate-related damage. This is precisely where the federal government’s new Adapt+ funding program comes in: measures to adapt to climate change can now be supported directly by the federal government.

With the revision of the CO₂ Act, the FOEN has had a clear basis for promoting such measures since 2025. Adapt+ supports projects that make a significant contribution to protecting people and property of considerable value from climate-related damage – today and in the future. Funding is provided both for the development of new, innovative solutions and, in a second step, for the planning and implementation of tried-and-tested approaches.

Since 2025, generis has been responsible for the administrative management of the funding program. We check submissions for formal criteria, coordinate administrative processes, and ensure that applications are complete, correct, and processed on time. With clear structures, a reliable helpdesk, and transparent planning and control principles, we ensure an efficient and smooth process.

This makes Adapt+ an effective driver for climate change adaptation in Switzerland. Through professionally managed funding processes and close cooperation with the FOEN, generis plays an important role in ensuring that project sponsors can effectively implement measures to combat climate-related risks. Adapt+ makes climate adaptation a reality—and gives projects that make our living and settlement spaces more resilient the necessary boost for implementation.

Overcome uncertainty, achieve impact.
